had my 1144 go down with white spotts at beachball size, never thought nothing of it . thought it was an abourt.. at day 30 my 998 pukos, taping at 349lbs.stopped growing. first had white freckles, now spots are egg size.. no growth since day 30. any ideas on this desiease and how to correct?, thanks, scott

Sorry to hear Scottie,I have been fighting this for 4 years.Im sure its a bug thing by Squash bugs or cucumber beatles.I have had pumpkins growing over 40 pounds a day then nothing then white spots.I hope you find out.Best of luck.

seedy, my plants are healthy, no bugs or bettles..hoped to have some help on this.. guess ill have to rely on pennstate... ill email you privatly..scotty

Check this reference for some of the common fruit diseases:

I've experienced Alternaria & Fusarium fruit rots on field pumpkins in the past. Some of these did start out whitish before the fruit collapsed.
Was the affected fruit sitting on a bed of sand or just sitting on the patch soil?

sorry tremor just seen this post.. on sand and a pourous piece of construction blanket made from nylon.. im still trying to figure out how to do the http thing.. thanks for posting
