I have a 300 gallon tank that my pump is pumping from, it is about 3 feet deep but never pumps dry, I have noticed mosquitoes hatching in there, what can I pour into the water to kill them but not harm my plants? thanks!

I put a few minnows in mine. Make sure your suction line is screened so you don't suck the fish up.

I use mosquito dunks, there are like a donut, eight to a pack, I found them at Walmart. Dont beleive it would hurt plants, it contains BT, the misquito strain.

blkcloud, I had a elderly neighbor who could grow anything, she really had a green thumb. She use to keep a 55 gallon rain barrel. she put a little vegtable oil in it. she said the oil coating on top of the water stopped the mosquitoes. Doug Jn 3:16

Neem oil works great for what your trying to do. I have 4 55 gallon barrel drums which I add neem oil to and it seems to kill the larvae and neem oils fairly cheap.

mosquito fish or vegetable oil will work, oil leaves a mess though

Can you run an air stone or small pump to keep the water moving and oxygenated?
