here is some herbicides you can use on your pumpkins command 4ec,curbit,prefar 4-e,roundup original,pre-emergence only. post herbicide poast plus i use dacathal pre emergence for grass,cobra pre emergence for many broadleaf,poast plus you can spray on your plant and it will kill all your grass.

Hey heavyhitter would like to get some poast plus to try on some plants to be sure it doesn't effect the pumpkins but will stop the crabgrass! would be a great find if it works! Is it readily available? Chuck

poast herbicide will kill crab grass,it will not kill pumpkin plants it is one of the herbicides that list to use with pumpkins.every year i get a crop protection reference book,www.greenbook.net,you call any of your coop dealers are your feed stores they will have it,mostly sold in 21/2 gallon jugs,but somee places sell it in smaller jugs,it is made by basf corp,www.agproducts.basf.com.

after you use poast and it kills your crab grass, you need to spray with dacthal it is a pre emergence it will kill the seed in the ground so it will not come up,you can also spray on pumpkins but need to have at least 5 leafs,dacthal is a powder comes in a four lb bag cost less than 20.00 dollars,if you cant find it there is a place here that sells poast for a small bottle for less than 20.00 dollars

Hey HH, Thanks fo rthe info did a lookup on google there pretty proud of the stuff only saw 5 gallon jugs fro 360 bucks...will keep looking around for someone who carries it in smaller sizes. Looks like it will do the job.
