Powdery Mildew: Hauntedhouse had a Question on 8/19/00, asking what the white spots on his leaves were. The one reply didn't provide an answer. It sounds like "Powdery Mildew" that usually spreads once started and shortly after the leaves are all white, they die. I have fought this problem for many years with very little (if any) success with several recommended Fungicides. Last spring a Commercial grower told me he was using NOVA and highly reccomended it. I bought 20 ounces ($80) to start and more later. Near the end of July some of my AG plants had a few white spots and several areas of my 5 acres of Jack-O-Lanterns had more. I sprayed with NOVA and continued to spray every 7 to 10 days. The powdery mildew went away on leaves sprayed with NOVA. In NY a pesticide permit is needed to buy NOVA.
