I'm inclined to agree with Dan. A Dill ring can be a minor element that doesn't sag to a dangerous degree. A rib can run the other way also with little effect on stability.
However either element can become extreme or a Dill ring might coincide with a rib to grave effect.
I suppose that either or both can cause a dangerously thin area that might "sag" into a depressed & weakened area that will keep the grower on tender hooks.

Sag line was started a few years ago by the PC people who felt a defect shouldn't be named after a guy who was so much a part of the developement of giant pumpkins...calling a sag line or transverse sag line a "Dill Ring" they found disrespectful.
