How do they come up, with or make, breed, a plant to be Powdery mildew resistant? I see in some pumpkin varities that they say they are Powdery mildew resistant. I wonder if there is a way to come up with a AG plant to be Powdery mildew resistant?

Wondered the same thing Brooks. My cucumber varietys always say Powdery mildew resistant and I just wonder how. If you make a way to make AG plants powdery resistant can you also make them SVB resistant..it would be appreciated.

Most AG's are powdery mildew resistent. Just grow one with a regular field pumpkin and you will see the resistence. They are not powdery mildew proof however. Some strains are more resistent than others...perhaps someone can elaborate in the specific seeds..............

Yepper...Glenn is right.
Selective breeding is a big deal for commercial food crops. AG's are just a novelty crop (to anyone other than us) so the big boy breeders don't pay us any mind at all.

I agree with Glenn, we had some Pepos reseed themselves so we just let them grow, towards the end of the year they were solid white leaves with PM our AG's had it but not as bad....This year, no Pepos cause we blamed them for introducing PM to our AG patch earlier than I have ever seen it. So I beleive the PM resistent strains....for what ever reasons.
