Last year, about a week after harvest of my ag's, i pulled my plants and noticed some extensive root rot on 3 out of my 4 plants. The one that was not rotten produced the largest a.g..Plants were in a 24" elevated mound and were watered in the mound once a week and also with a overhead mist system, daily, throughout the week. I have read other post's about keeping it dry at the base and i thought it was pretty dry the most part. Should watering be done by keeping the weekly water away from the base?` say a foot circum.? Thanks for any advice.

that would help. If your soil is clay you may need to add organic matter to lighten it up a bit
