I had a soil heating coil in the ground for about 1 week prior to transplanting my 992 DILL. When I went to plant there was massive thriving ant hill right where I neeeded to plant. In a rush i just went ahead and planted into the hill. Then I thought the ants may damage my root system so I decided to spray Raid Antkiller liberly.....I basically lost all 3 initial leaves and only about 5d later now is it making new leaves...hurt the plant quite badly. My question is should I worry about Ants???!!!?? Thanks

I'd sprinkle some Diazinon granules around the area and water it in, then forget about 'em. I'd tell you to stay away from Raid, but I think you already know that. :) I don't know if ants would really hurt your plant or not, but you probably don't want them in your garden. Imagine hitting their colony next season when its time to till the soil.

It is actually my first true leaf that has gotten hurt very baddly from the Raid chemical. It has multiple linear tears and it is shrivelled up into a partial tube shape. The leaf is also very dark green. The stem of that leaf looks very healthy however. The stem is about 4" long (my longest stem) My question is should i prune off that partially wilted leaf or not???!?!?!

I forgot to mention that I now have a healthy second leaf and the third and fourth leaves are emerging quickly. Thanks

It sounds to me like it will recover, and will probably be just fine once the new leaves get going. I'm not sure what to tell ya about the partially wilted leaf, I would probably leave it alone.
