Subject: small cracks or tears on leaf

I have discovered small tears on the leafs. Dose anyone kwow what causes this, is there anthing to worry about? I have not found any bugs.I have dusted for bugs and sprayed fungicide. If anyone has any ideas please reply thanks.

mark, you mentioned that you had quite a bit of rain, is it possible that there was maybe some slight, isolated hail? i've had this happen to me two years in a row. holes all over the place. no reports of hail in the area, and no insects to be found.

I don't think hail is necessary to do this kind of damage to new pumpkin leaves. We had some rain last week that came down in huge raindrops--bug enough, I think, to poke holes in leaves. Fortunately, my plants were under cover at the time!

Wind can also cause this type of damage. This is one of my biggest problems.

I am a first timer at this. But after I had mowed my grass I was very suprised to find a long blade of grass stick through one of my leaves like a spear. This is my first hole but I guess this just shows anything could do this .These leaves must be very tender.
