Is it a good idea to spray fungicides and insecticides BEFORE a plant is affected with either, or do you wait untill there is a problem, then apply spray.

Merit is applied when planting or prior. A diluted spray of Daconil when first real leaves form is sometimes sprayed as a preventative.
