I ordered the SVB that Bushwacker displayed in his Diary that caught 39 SVB....well today, after only 3 days, I checked my traps, there were 6 SVB dead in the bottom of the trap! These traps are unreal! I like them so much that I contacted the company and became a reseller, you can find the trap and replacment lures at: www.extremepumpkinstore.com Tom

I started using those a few years ago. They are good to see when pressure starts, but they only catch males, so the don't stop egg laying. 39 SVBs or 1, it only serves to let you know when you need to spray.

Plus, each trap is rated for a very large area, so unless your patch is on the order of acres, you only need one.

might be a stupid question but if they only catch the males whats the point???? Are the males not attracted to the females????

well, I would think that without the males the eggs might not be fertile...how can I put this....I am not a scientist but here it goes anyway.... When a mommy SVB loves a Daddy SVB very much.....lmfao...

LOL.
Eng6900, the point is to start spraying when you need to, not too early or too late. When you catch one, start spraying.
I suppose not fertilizing the eggs would stop those eggs from becoming a problem....but whats to say they won't get fertilized somewhere else I guess, though it won't stop the females from laying.
