So while checking on my pumpkins today I noticed a large clearish, white eggy mass on one of my pumpkins. It is disgusting and I was told it is Eggs that hatch worms that are brought by a moth???? I wiped it off and applied an insecticide. Any suggestions as to what type of moth or worm and how to further prevent it. I have a pic if anyone wants to see it. Thanks!

looks like you have a leaky pumpkin....growth so good the skin weeps....not a pest, just pumpkin growth goo. Either that or its hail damage causing the pumpkin to weep....did you get hail and don't know it?

All of my other pumpkins are fine. When I came out the morning prior to the photo I have posted it was a big mass..almost like a big blob of jelly..very gross. I freaked and looked over my entire patch and nothing else had it. My father in law suggested a moth that lays it's eggs on pumpkins and other crops..so we sprayed it with a pesticide, scraped it off, and then dried up the area. THe next day it was back like in the photo. I ended up culling the pumpkin and when I cut it in half it was fine..so no clue what it was.
