It sounds like clorophyl is missing. The possibilities are endless. Pictures & how the plants have been treated are the very least we need to help.

I saw the pictures. The holes look like grasshopper damage. They are hitting mine and another growers about the same. The yellow spots look like sunburn or maybe a chemical reaction. Did you spray some foliar fertilizer or insecticide right before the plant got a lot of sunshine? That can sometimes cause yellow spots.
Are you the Vince who had an entry at Anamosa Pumpkinfest the past couple of years?
