pellet guns work real well for me.after they get the noise figured out that it means pain and death all I have to do is clap my hands and they think I'm Shooting at them an take off.

There are now some electronic devices that are told to work pretty well against that kind of troubles. The problem is that they work with different wavelengths and you need a different one for each kind of animal, and they are not anexpensive, but at least you don't kill them. I can find those devices in normal garden centers over here.

i like to put out poison bird seed. birds eat it and die. the rodents gnaw on the dead birds and they die. i usually have to make the pesky critters eat it. and if they don`t, i just shoot them and they die. seems like death is a pretty good deterent...... G. Reaper

Ultrasonic sound devises have been around for awhile. An American firm gave me one to test twenty years ago. It was one of the finest. It caused a ground hog to move his den twenty yards. The mice, moles and voles, deer, bear, birds and the neighbors dogs and cats walked right through the patterns I set up. Moving the pattern and or cycling the pattern did not change the effect. Having filed this report and offering to return the test equipment I have heard nothing from the company since the reqested test. Somehow I figure they did not like my report. :)

he's not just poisoning any bird... he's poisoning the ones that are in his patch... :) unless any of them are on the endangered list ... it sounds like a valid approach to me ... i wouldn't try it on my patch, because i don't have a bird problem (knock on wood).
