I needed something to rotate with the Daconil Ive been using so I picked up some 'Liquid Copper Fungicide'
active ingredient 31.4% copper ammonium complex For Cucurbits it says "apply by ground or air when disease appears and repeat at 7-10 day intervals"
I thought all fungicide was preventative? On other vegetables it says apply BEFORE diseases appear so why wait for cucurbits? Would it be useless to apply before disease strikes?
Im also a bit confused about application. With Daconil I sprayed top and bottom of the leaves with a tank sprayer but this says 'apply by ground or air' Im not sure what that means exactly. Is it a systemic that goes through the roots or do I spray it just like the Daconil?
Id really appreciate any tips or advice, Thanks, Tammy

Tammy
Use the lowest rate and only in the evening. Its not for PM, but DM and certain blights.

Diseases can only be prevented. Once the symptoms appear, we're cooked.

Thanks Tremor, disease ended my season last year so Im trying really hard not to have a repeat of that. Do I spray it on the leaves (top and bottom) like I did Daconil? Tammy

Light frequent is much better than heavy infrequent to avoid aging the leaves. Even half rate twice.

Sorry to hijack your post Tammy but I got a question for tremor. For downy mildew would copper fungicides be better or sulfur funcicides? I have been using Ortho disease control and it seems to be slowing down the DM just not enough. I'm going to try neem and Ortho together tomorrow evening. Hoping the neem will help it stick to the leaves better.
