tonight i came home to find a goose in my patch. probably not so strange to some of you but we don`t have geese here. it`s a weeder goose, the kind farmers would rent by the 100s to eat the weeds in their cotton fields and fertilize many years ago. no need for herbicides. hmmm.....could this be a sign from above? maybe an omen? some coincidence since i`m just now recovering from herbicide poisoning and this chemical free weeder suddenly appears out of the blue? yep, i can take a hint. she will live here, i`ll name her Herbi.....no more herbicides on my farm......(`til December 26th)..Heeee Haaawwww

She probably was a pest and was dropped off. I would put a small fence around my pumpkin plants. That is until you can prove she does not like pumpkin plants.

Reminds me of a story I once heard about a farmer around here. He bought some "weeder ducks", and bragged and bragged how his new ducks would do all the weeding for his strawberry patch. Someone must've forgotten to inform the ducks, for they proceeded to consume every strawberry plant!
