I'm getting some holes showing up on some of the leaves on my plants. See my diary pics for 6/17/12. Any help would be appreciated if I should be concerned. My e-mail is on the first pic/post. Thanks...Tom W.

My first guess is cucumber beetles. Second guess is slugs.
Have you seen any around? By the time you actually see them, they've been munching on your plant for some time. And multiplying.
You have to start spraying for insects etc. from the get-go to stop them dead(pun intended).

The last thing I wanted to hear was cuke beetles. I haven't seen any but I am going to spray anyway. I have been looking on the underside of the leaves and haven't seen bugs or eggs. Pretty sure it's not slugs.I was also going to go out with a flashlight after dark and see if it night be earwigs. Thanks for your response.

Here's a link to Matt Debacco's excellent leaf problem problem-solver: http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Attachments/Leaf_Problems_Summer_2011.pdf
Check it out.

This sucks! I haven't seen a bug, I sprayed bifen last night, drenched Bayer T&S Fri. And there's more damage. It rained a lot 2 days ago. So tonight I'll get some beer and try to get some slugs drunk. Are slugs killed by insecticide?

Changed my mind why waste a beer. When ya have a bag of Diatomaceous Earth. Now the patch looks like it snowed.

Thanks for the link Steve. I remember seeing this last week but couldn't remember where. I was hoping someone would post it again. I've put it in my favorites so I'll have it at hand. After looking through it again I am inclined to assume it is just insect damage and not viral so far. Guess I had better start a spray program. Thanks again.

I do have some Diatemaceous Earth so maybe I'll hit the areas affected first thing tomorrow if there is more damage.
