There are spots on my plant now that are brown and looks almost like tomato blight. The active ingredient of this Fung-onil is 29.60% Chlorothalonil(tetrachloroisophthalontrile). It says to use 2 teas per gallon of water. Is it alright to use it? Thank you all who have the knowledge to answer question and that the time to help us newcomers. Dottie

Dottie,
That is a contact fungicide & is best used as a preventive material prior to the onset of visual symptoms. Use of this product may check the spread of symptoms, but infection may spread a bit before this is evident.
Once a fungus get's going, you may wish to include a systemic (actually a local penetrant) fungicide like Eagle, ProStar, Quadris, etc to check the diseases more quickly after they get started.
Personally I combine a contact with a systemic for the greatest effect. But this can wait until later in the season (like now). It's fine to start the season with a straight contact fungicide so long as the program remains vigilant.

Tremor: Having problems determining what systemic fungicide is available to consumers(not the ones for licensed applicators). Would like to know the best systemic fungicide that Joe Consumer can purchase at a retail store. Thanks.
