Something has bored a hole in my pumpkin. I know vine borers will do that to vines but what would do it to the fruit. Please email me at svrichb@yahoo.com with any ideas. Just posted a picture of the damage in my diary.

Had a very similar event couple pumpkins ago. Blasted Sevin into hole before pasting with Captan. Waited couple days and scraped out a tiny "inchworm" appearing critter, stiff ! Minor scar was all that remained when all was done. Eye dropper-type syringe concentrates product where you want it. Good luck !

pickle worms? They like to bore in to the fruit? Sevin should take care of them. Either that sprinkle some Bug-B-Gone or some other powdered insecticide on the ground to create a boundary.
