Booth what i think you have seen is a June bug that has Med morphicies (can,t spell it) You know like the Hulk. That happens here about this time of the year. Useally it is the males. I don,t think they will hurt plants. They do fly,and are exactly like you have describe.. greg

sorry about the scare folks. i`ve always been told that there are`nt any out here, but i`ve found over 20 leaves with a hole at the base of the stalk. each hole is about 1/4"- 3/8" in diameter and goes thru to the inside of the stalk. there`s a brownish looking pile of crud around the hole. each leaf dies quickly after a hole is made. i heard svbs are green and rather large. i`ve tried to find a pic on the web, but all i get are larvae pics. thanks ya`all.
