I have found a 2" hole under the main of my best plant. There is some greyish fur, and straw has been drug into the hole. My use of Rodex does a pretty good job of controlling mice, chipmunks, and even possums. Any guesses? I'm guessing a rat. They are smarter than most critters, and only come out at night. I'm trying a rat trap with pepperoni on it tonight!

Whoops. If you see any tunnels leading from the hole (as evidenced by raised soil on the surface), it might be moles

Straw has been drug into the hole - sounds like rats building a nest in the soil. Tunnels can go down several feet. In that case you should use something containing wharfarin, Tremor should know about this.
