I noticed length-wise split in one of my main vines close to the stump.I sprayed it with Daconil and then buried it. was this correct? Should I use the Captan product you mentioned for the previous stem split message and also leave it uncovered? If I can't find Captan, what other alternative product can I use? Thanks!

You can also put sulphur dust on it, it's not as toxic as the Captan, but is an excellent fungicide.
