I'm pretty sure your post is a perfect example of a nutrient issue that would regularly get mistaken for a disease. I'm not sure the exact issue but this time of year the pumpkins are like a sponge. I'd throw NPK at it...? Not to freak you out but I think that could be multiple deficiencies and/or low ph perhaps. Just one opinion.

Umm... so here is a guess... raise the ph slightly and add a bit of ammonium. Hopefully either I'm right or someone will give the correct answer.

Unfortunately, in my experience the nutrition for healthy leaves and the nutrition for getting good pumpkin growth arent 100% correlated... Caveat emptor.

It kind of looks like potassium deficiency.

Funny, I just got my SNGPG newsletter and one of the main articles was on Potassium deficiency!

I would agree with Debacco's leaf guide that there could be some correlation of low potassium to powdery mildew. I think probably not the only factor but I do think it could be one of the factors.

Oops... maybe I misread that. Not sure why I thought I read that. Oh well just my own observational theory then.
That leaf guide and the SNGPG both have really great info.

I’m just gonna throw this out there that guesses don’t help anyone. If you don’t know, don’t offer advice.

I think he got the correct answer.
Is there some all-knowing-pumpkin-God who I'm offending? I think our culture is plenty "head-down and shut up". The sad thing is the people who are smarter than me wont speak up because they're afraid of being chastised by someone higher up.
This is an authoritarian society of over-sensitivity where there are no authorities and everyone is fearful.
Sorry but right or wrong I'm gonna speak. Speaking used to be a normal human activity.
