On some of my leaves there is spots of little dry areas, it almost looks like some one took a match to the underneath of the leaf and burnt it,the area does not have holes clear through the leaf ,could some kind of bug just be eating the first thin layer of my leaf?

Maybe pesticide or fungicide burn? I just recently did that to mine and had similar type spotting.

Here is a very good link for disorders of pumpkin leaves:
http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/cucurbit/indexleaf.html
The panel on the far upper right includes one of 2,4-D herbicide injury. Certain DMI (sterol inhibitors) fungicided cause thickened & darkened leaves like this. But Sevin damage is different.
I'll snoop around & see if I can find any real photos.

Be careful with the Triazicide also. I have had serious burns on new growth with full a strength mixture. I use it 1 Tbls./Gallon of water for mature leaves. For new growth I mix up a small batch around 1/3 strength, a mixture of about 1 tsp./gallon of water works good.
Triazicide really knocks down the bugs good, its one off my first choices when I want to kill some insects. I still rotate Sevin in between a number of other insecticides as well.
Don't forget to spray the undersides of the leaves as well. Dean o
