I came home last night and noticed the leaves on my plant were looking bad. I have only given the plant 1 feed of Miracle-gro and 1 of fish/seaweed. I also have only sprayed once with Sevin. Could this be from a batch of Sevin gone bad or has this plant got some disease. I sure I didn't mix up the stuff too strong. Phil, a couple of links to help you out. Could it be a potassium deficiency with yellow scorched older leaves, which turn dry and papery.

Russ, my last soil sample said I have high levels of potassium. I was looking at them better and it looks like the leaves are burnt. I gave it only one spraying of Sevin @ 1 tsp to 1 gal of water. The same ratio I have been giving the pumpkins for the last few years. The bottle of Sevin is old and I wouldn't be surprised if it got frozen at some point. I got it from my mother-in-law's house this spring. It was stored in the shed at the back of the house. I'm not taking any chances, I'm going to buy a new bottle of Sevin today. If anyone can identify for sure what is going on I would appreciate a response.
Thanks, Phil

Was the Sevin applied in the morning?

Phil, instead of Sevin you can get Ambush or Bug-X by Wilson. They are better than Sevin and contain PERMETHRIN http://wilson.nu-gro.chost.ca/products/product_e.php?prodID=127 http://wilson.nu-gro.chost.ca/products/product_e.php?prodID=124

Tremor, I applied it just at sunset. I'm not sure what happened, but I will be using a a little weaker solution next time. Russ, I have already purchased a new bottle of Sevin. I have never had a problem with it and has done a great job in the past. I have stressed the plant with the loss of 3-4 leaves, but I didn't kill it. Thanks for your responses, and have a great season.

It's Sevin stress...no doubt of the telltale signs, I've had it many times. I no longer use Sevin, it's just too harsh and unpredictable, far too many other choices out there.
