I know that Merit is toxic to bees, and I try not to use it when they are flying around. However, does it make the pollen and nectar toxic as well? Anybody know?

If Merit/Admire is applied to the rootzone as a drench & not applied to the flowers, then no insecticide will ever contact a bee. Imidacloprid doesn't make it into flowers or fruit either. Thus Admire's use on edible food crops.
There was a big bruhaha over in France this spring about Fipronil killing bees & the French government was trying to fleece Bayer for money. That matter had nothing to do with Merit. But some of the American based Garden webforums were riddled with inaccurate statements about this all the same.
