We've heard a lot of things about these fungicides and we aren't exactly sure how to use them. The instructions we got didn't go into detail and if you could give us some advice on how to mix it and apply it, we would greatly appreciate it. Thanx Liz 4, Riverview school kids

I use captan as a paste to seal cracks in the pumpkin and stem. Take about a tablespoon of powered captan in a little dish and add tiny amounts of water and stir untill its a thick paste. You can apply it with a paint brush. I just started using Zero tolerence. Its expensive but I love it. You can spray your whole plant, the pumpkins and stems and even all of your tools. It sort of acts like a disinfectent. It kills fungus and the spores. I wouldn't suggest using it in the hottest part of the day, that is what the instructions say. The man at the Ag center told me to use one half ounce per gallon of water. You could also use Captan as a spray on fungicide. Just follow the directions on the container. Good luck Amy
