My neighbour had a bad season with his pumpkin - it didn´t want to grow, then it developed a small crack on the blossom end that looked somehow deep. Concerning all the rain we have I suggested to treat that crack fast and my idea was resin since I have some fir trees in the garden. If it´s dry the consistency is much likely that stuff the pumpkin produces itself. For now the crack is closed pretty good. What do you think about this method?

From all the posts on cracks and splitting I think more methods should be tried...The first guy who comes up with a way of healing this problem will become a hero to all the pumpkin growers...Let us know if it works...I alway find that sealing the crack even for a short time the sealant gets edges as the pumpkin continues to grow and eventually reopens..
