On the edges of some of my leaves it turns yellow and then starts to get brown. It seems to be from near the edge and about two inches in from the edge and from there on in it looks normal. Could it be fertilizer I am useing a miracle -Gro for tomatoes (18-18-21) I don't think it says any thing about weather it has acid in it or not, could it not have enough acid in the soil? I think for the most part most of my soil is realy alkaline. I have Miracid should I give the pumpkins some? Any help is greatly appreciated Thanks!

I'm having the same problem, (and coincidently enuff, i too am using Miracle Grow for tomatoes, although I'm sure that it's just dumb luck that we are both using that product and are both having this problem since I've seen other people post on here about having the same problem while using other fertilzers) and read on some other post on the message board that this may be normal if it is happening near the main stump and to older leaves. However, it seems to be spreading some to further reaches of the plant now. I'm still optimistic that this may be normal as my pumpkin is progressing along nicely in spite of the mulitiple leaves that are dead or dying on my plant. I'd like to continue this message thread so anyone else that is experiencing this problem with yellowing/browning/dying leaves please let me know of your obsevations/solutions etc,.... Steve

Hi growers!
Are just some of your leaves edges curling up and turning brown? I, too have experienced this problem before, and I've heard it is due to the heat,it shouldn't really hurt anything! Good luck! Don't use Miracid!
