Anyone else getting this message when going in to chat? "Error detected. Will retry."" I get every time I try to get in.....I think pappy had me banned so I couldnt see how big his monster really is...LOL

A database error occurred and when the server tried to log the error message (over and over) it filled up our error log. We will try and trace it back to the cause of the original error so that we can prevent it from occurring again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Chat should be all set now. I took care of the issue with the full log. We still have to find and fix the original problem that filled the log in the first place.

The only problem I have with the chat room is the fact that people have no manners. When I go into a chat and say hello, at least I can be acknowledged. Instead Im ignored untill I say something after waiting...and waiting. For you people in the Bigpumkin chat rooms...get some manners, I don't think your mamma taught you any!

When BigP hosts a celebrity grower chat, patrons are politely asked NOT to waste space and time greeting everyone, and asking for seed. This gives more time (which is already limited) for questions to the "heavy hitter", so all questions can be answered, in fairness to all.Maybe some of this has carried over into the chat room, but, all in all, Giant Pumpkin growers are the friendliest bunch of people you'll ever meet!

jabathehut, I wouldn't take it too personally. I'm sure no one meant any disrespect. I have not been in too many chat rooms, and personally, I get a bit confused when to say things and what to say. I don't know the proper way to enter the chat room, but when I enter I wait until some says hello first, then I'm not interupting anything. Whether that's proper or not, I don't know. But these are a great bunch of people and they wouldn't hurt a fly.

I was in the chat room when you came in and most everyone said Hi, you then asked a question and before anyone could answer you started lashing out us for ignoreing you.I posted a answer for you just after you got mad. Some of us are not very fast typers so if you dont have 30 seconds to wait not to worry I wont answer you anymore.

Hey JTH, I'm sure there was no disrespect here. I agree with Steely. Open up with a Hey gang, and hang in there. Sometimes there are three of four different conversations going on. It's tough to get the flow of all of them until you watch for a while. If you have a burning question post it in the proper area. These guys will answer it. Have a great time with the hobby.

When I used to go into the chat rooms ( I rarely do now) I wouldn't always say Hi to everyone coming & going because if there are 10 people in the room & someone is coming & someone going you could have over 25-30 post stating only Hello or Cya. The main reason I no longer go into the rooms is the talk would get way off base ( which I enjoyed a great deal) but it seemed everytime I would get into the "off-topic" someone would lash out & tell me to back down a little.
That's why my post on BP stay mostly to the topic now also. Everytime I would state my opinion on a "touchy" topic, things would get removed from the site. Since I quit doing that I've seen much worse on the various boards but I keep quite & will continue to ( mabey I'll get it worked out in July..lol)
