I got a virus email from this email address today. I know it's not from BP, but it's giant veggies, so watch out for it.

Brigitte:

Just to let you know,

1) I have not gotten a virus in the last year so the address is spoofed from some one that has got this address in their address book.

2) WCPGA.com website was pulled offline around the third week in February after another hack attack on the server and has not been put back on-line since.

I know you understand it did not come from me or wcpga.com website but their are folks that still don't know how these things work and believe I or others (if our address is in the sent from field) sent them.

I personally think the ones that make the anti-virus programs have some thing to do with some of these viruses, there sure seems to be alot of them around lately and if they weren't they would be out of business.

No viruses, No anti-Virus Programs, No money.... (Just my two cents.)

Hey Ernie, interesting comment about the anti-virus programs. I have another take on it. I cancelled my firewall through Telus because I saw the Norton firewall was on sale. The 3 days my computer was left vulnerable, it was hit by a worm. It cost me $80 to fix. I was the first of 20 or so to get it fixed by this technician. Let's see, $80 x 20 poor schmucks = lots of cash for computer repair techs. Maybe they are involved as well?

I don't think there is any conspiracy going on. There are just a bunch of computer geeks that get a kick out of making trouble for others. They feel they can't get caught and don't worry about damaging other people's property. I wish a few of them would get caught and punished. It might slow down the problem a little.

Let's get realistic. Ball clubs hire the goon who can throw the fastest illegal spit ball and get away with it. Lock companys hire the highest skilled lock pickers to design pic proof locks. So what does it take to sell software to stop problems? Ans: Fear of threat.

I got a couple emails yesterday from a couple members of this group that looked suspicious and simply deleted them without opening them. Both had the same subject heading of a forwarded message and attatchments. Being out of work I could not afford to renew with norton for the time being. Simple answer, if it doesn't look right, delete. If it really was something important they'll send it again.

I have a Norton firewall, it has stoped 18 to 20 this past week. What is going on, I used to get 1 or 2 per year. Some jokers have too much time on their hands.

I get so many of these now that I don't even bother to contact the real person whose identity was duped any more. Yesterday I got one from LIPumpkins. That's Glenn! A few weeks ago I got one from my boss. They're all baloney.
