My father-in-law suggested a contest to see who could grow the biggest pumpkin...he even gave me a package of commercial Atlantic Giant seeds to start with. I dug a 4x4 hole, 3ft deep, and layered dead leaves, composted cow manure, and peat....then made a 3ft mound to plant the seeds. I have my old waterbed heater sitting on top of the mound, and built a 3x4 greenhouse covered in visqueen. I had the soil temp up 70 degrees yesterday, and planted my seeds .....hope i'm on the right track!! I'd love to win this contest.....my father-in-law is an old Tennessee farmer, so he thinks he has this contest sown up already!! He doesn't know i have access to things like "bigpumpkins.com" Supposed to hit the mid 70's here in Mid Michigan today, guess i'll go check on my babies!!

Hurry....fast....take those store bought seeds your Father-in-law set you up with and pull them out. Someone send him some seeds now ! Its a set-up Mr. Cuzbiker ! Your best buddy Father-in-law has limited your success by picking your store bought seeds....(in-laws will do stuff like that !). Seriously...you still have time...any seed found on this site will be far superior to a shelf seed....if you want the edge (and Im sure any old Tennessee Farmer already has premium seed and ISNT planting shelf seed)you need better seed.Certainly don't tell him what you eventually get...just wait for the look on his face when you win....post your address...I know of many people on this list that would contribute selflessly and quickly to see an IN_LAW go down to defeat. Right everyone? ............G

I have extras, send me your address. I have desendents of a 723 Bobier. You should use liquid kelp to fertilize your pumpkins, it works great! good luck, FarmerTom, I'm not a farmer, I just think I am.
