I've got a non-working chest freezer. If I wanted to use a KISS technique, what would be the recommendations of making a germination box out of it? lower the cost the better : )
Questions : - type of thermastat? - heat source? - ventilation needed?

Heat source could be as simple as a pair of metal octogon electrical box's, a pair of porcelain light fixtures and a couple of 100w bulbs, incandecent or halogen. My box isnt ventilated but its not a sealed freezer either. I do have a small 110v fan on one side to move the air around some. Thermostats can be found online for pretty cheap. I replace alot on refrigeration units at work so I keep them and use them on projects like this. Germination box's work good to keep your worms warm when its winter and your not starting seeds too.
