Yesterday I filed my first seed and have it in a warm spot hopefully it will germinate soon. Im trying to get the soil temp right in the germ chamber. Im using a terrarium heater,it looks like a really thin heating pad. This morning the soil was 93.4 which I assume is too hot. I put it between a couple of muffin pans and put on a folded towel to reduce the heat. Used pans because I didnt want the heater in direct contact with the towel, possible fire hazard? ((Hubby said he doesnt know what kind of muffins Im making, but he doesnt want any of them!)) LOL anyway Im wondering what temp the soil should be to put the seed in when/if it germinates? I followed the 'one drop squeeze' test for the soil and Im pretty confident that I got it right but Im unsure about what temp I should be aiming for.

P.S. I have a clip light shining on the top of the germ chamber, the air temp was 85 which I *think* is ok please correct me if Im wrong.

Thank you, I knew the seed in the zip bag should be 85-90 and the air temp too but I wasnt sure about the soil temp. I didnt want to risk frying the roots when/if the seed pops. Thanks again :) Tammy
