Does anyone use a timer for turning on gro-lights and heat mats? I bought a timer last night but can't get it to work. I have a 6 outlet power strip with switch, so i plugged that into the timer and the timer unit into the wall. Can't seem to get the unit to turn on my power strip.

Lis, this might be a dumb question...but I am good at it,so here goes!!! Is there an on/off switch on yer power strip? If so...is it in the on position? If in the off position...well....LOL Peace, Wayne PS...the timer can not flip the on/off switch!!!

Yep I had the switch in the on position but still nothing. I took it back and bought a GE 8 outlet timer strip. 4 outlets work on the timer and the other 4 remain on all the time. Now since I have 6 things to plug in I got a coupler to plug in the remaining 2 heat mats on the timer side. Works great!!!

unless you bought a heavy duty timer, I would be careful about plugging too many things into it.Like Smokey the Bear says, "Only you can prevent forest fires.'
