Hey all- terrific site you have here, tons of great info, thanks for that.my wife and I have wanted to try growing a big fruit for yers now and last year we hit the books hard to learn as much as we could ,about the "sport"..this year we going for it..I purchased a few EXTREmE gardening punkin kits to give as gifts,mainly to family(gardeners) ,to initiate our own little "club".. Being the sly SOB I am, I never mentioned a thing about "good seeds" which I ordered from both Howard dill and holland giants..(a guy needs any advantage he can get right?)..my question ... Out if the 3 "real seeds" and the 4 extreme gar. Seeds ,I went 1 and . As I make the move this weekend I have found myself in a preedikeement... The ex gar plant is twice the size and growing great under lights...the good seed(jutras/urea I think) looks just ok .. I know you should choose the better plant eventually but have promised one to a friend ... Question- which one should I keep? A great looking unproven little white seed or a "real" giant pumkin seed? Thanks for your help.. I promise I'll never make a post this long again..thanks and best to you all this season..gonna be alot like 04 dry dry dry--- ya heard it here first

the only way to get a proven seed is to grow it and prove it can produce! What's the name of the Jutras/Urena cross? I would recommend growing the seed that you know the parentage. Did you get any stats on the extreme gardening seeds?

i would grow the one with parentage like Josh said.the seeds you get with the extreme kit do not have that,so you have no clue what your getting.and if you need more good seeds just ask.people are more than willing to give good seeds for free.

Go with your gut feeling,for me its right 90% of the time.If not the case for you then go with logic.The best seed proven or parent seed proven.

Thanks guys- my gut was telling me go with the proven.. The seed is actually 1404 Bryson +991 urena..also started a 1556 rodonis/1725 harp.. It's been 6 days and my fingers still crossed.. I'll be starting a diary soon and I'll post pics of plants..btw led grow lights are awesome(the good ones anyway).. Thanks again for the advice

Hey Beaner I have one that is 1309.5 Wheeler ( 1566 rodonis x 991 urena ). It is the best plant I have seen. I have more from Mr Urena with parentage if you need just let me know. dbcreek3@gmail.com
