just got a seed from an auction , its the 1874.5mathison and it looks flat like an empty shell ,

does anywone else have the same problem , hope it germinates , probably wont

I would ask for another one,,, toss it on the table,,, if it sounds hollow,,,, no good,,, has to sound solid,

Yep, compare it to some other ones of similar stature (thin, white, thick brown, shape, etc) and you'll learn to tell which are the viable and which aren't by the hollow sound. But, I read another post of yours and don't be turned off by it just cause it is a thin, white seed. It's not how brawny the seed is that counts. Best of luck with it.
