The first positive surprise was the „1452 Gaye09“ from Belgium with the notes 2,2.....
...a ten years old seed!!
...but it was the exception among the seeds from 2009.

If you are interested in more infos, pictures and the results in excel....
please use this link

For the next winter the project „Methusalix VII“ is planned with seeds from 2014 to 2019 under the same conditions.........
….and „Methusalix VIII“ is a 5-year longtime project for testing seeds from 2019 upon using various storage methods/temperatures;
.....but for that I need 180 seeds per cross....LOL

Greetings from Berlin

Man, if I look at that now, I'll be up past my bedtime, again---Dustin, I'll admit I've never seen that word before. Is it German for 'Post!'? I'm not really TRYING to be funny, but, lol---eg

Pal, "prost" is used when its early fall, you are sitting in a huge tent at a very long table in northern Bavaria, hundreds of drunk germans are singing, tubas are blaring, and you raise your heavy 1 liter glass Stein to your neighbor, then gulp your refreshing beverage, brewed according to the reinheitsgebot of course.

It's a word of celebration... of CHEERS!

I spent about 7 years in Budingen, Germany (just south of Frankfurt) when I was in the military. I miss the beer as well as the culture.

4 years in Ansbach here Dustin. About 30km west of Nuremberg. 1st infantry div. I've got about 30 glasses sitting around myself. Some I have no recollection of acquiring....

1st Cavalry Spurholder here :)

Oktoberfest is great an all, but I don't remember much of either of them, despite going into the second one attempting to pace myself. Perhaps at 38, I could behave, but at 22 I couldn't.

My favorite place though was the Monastery in Kreuzberg. Straight up Monks that brewed their own recipe and served it in a beer hall next to the worship hall. Little campground to pitch a tent so you can crash... only got it once in a while, so was always a fun trip.

Tut mir leid for hijacking the post Martin!

Dustin, if you were there 16 years ago then so was I. I apologize if I headbutted you in a fest tent. Maybe we can catch up at a weighoff and find a rauchbier to celebrate.
