To say it’s all good in the patch would be a bit of an understatement.
We have really pushed the plants and 3 days before the first pollination we put the venting temperature up from 18C to 26C for 30 days.
We’ve been trying to find the sweet spot for cell division and cell expansion.
I don’t think we’re far off the money but the because we grew two plants early for the Spanish weigh off the plants have had to endure this heat for 40 plus days.
We are now venting at 18C and trying to calm everything down only to be blessed with a frigging heat wave.
The long and short of all this is that the plants are looking tireder than normal but the results are outstanding.
The 2356 DAP80 is 2009lbs and averaged 10lbs a day for the last ten. She’s going to be one heavy pumpkin for sure.
