Begin with standard 6" peat pot (left), then shave peat pot walls very thin with a bench grinder wire wheel, finally poke holes in the pot. We used this technique last season with great results. Note it takes pratice and about 45 minutes each, also about 1 in 5 pots get torn, especially if drinking beer!
