This appeared since yesterday. It is growing out of a hole in the stump. About 3 days ago I cut off a small secondary to clear out the area around the stump and was very unhappy to see a hole going all the way down into the center of the stump. It looked clean and firm, no discoloration. Now this. See the next photo for a closeup.
