This is a picture of some olotillo blanco maize. It's not the tallest I've ever had, but it's definitely a great variety to grow for height. This small patch made it through all the wind because I used tree velcro tape to group them together. You can see an another large variety of amaranth growing to the right. It's leaning over, but still is standing on it's own. It's starting to flower; so I hope to get some seeds from this variety too. If you look closely, you can also see one growing up through the middle of the corn. This variety of amaranth was planted late, but it still managed to get very tall. It's not as tall as the giant amaranth, but it's much bigger than most amaranth varities.
