My tallest maize is still growing and doesn't have any tassle yet. It probably has about 6 unextended leaves at the top of the plant that I can count. I put a 27 feet tall pole next to the cornstalk to get an idea of how tall it might be. It's a 21 ft long flag pole with a 6 ft. rod stuck in at the top. The pole is approximately 27 feet. The corn is bent all over the place from all the wind storms, but it looks to be about ~2 feet below the pole from what I can see. It may be less, but it may be more too. I won't know how tall this stalk is until I cut it down and straighten it out as best as I can. It's amazing that the plant is still standing with all the bends in the stem. If I can avoid frost, then I should be able to get a few more feet out of it at least.
