One of my twin 7 year old daughters holding the sunflower head from the self-sown sunflower with the 11 inch stalk. The head wasn't as big as I hoped for. It was 17 inches across. We took it to the Hunterdon County Fair and it won first place for the heaviest head at 8 pounds. They weigh them at the fair instead of measuring the diameter.
