Brooks, Maybe you should change your name to "Gotta 1260 Weir for me?"

1104.5 is still a heckuvalot easier to get than an 898 Owen...just so you know...and the 1104.5 isn't proven to produce the same results in offspring as the 898 and it's not in the same class at all in my opinion.
I do hope that you get your 898 though sincerely, Michel

Good one boehnke! If I lost my mind it happened a long time ago...LOL!
As far as this thread is concerned I think that the 898 Knauss is a great seed to use as a breeder to make other pumpkins produce even heavier such as the 1104.5 Hester which is 898 x 845Bobier.
The 1104.5 sure did produce a huge pumpkin but I think Jack Larue could grow a large one even off a "jack-b-little" seed too...
I was personally very glad to trade away my 1104.5 for another chance to grow an 869.5 Calai in 2005. To me a beautiful pumpkin is as important as winning any competition....But of course I realize that most people just want to grow bigger. Best regards, Michel

I still have about 50 seeds of my 751 left to trade, which is the 898 X 845 Bobier cross, same as Brett's 1104. For those who sent seed packs, I mailed 72 of them today so you will get them soon around Xmas.
For those on my yearly list, I will get yours out in the next week or so.. The first batch took me about 6 hours to process!
