If you have one and aren't going to plant it, would you consider trading it to me for my fundraiser? I'll be doing "raffle lots", along with a few other twists, and need a few more upper tier seed. The 705 is a high priority seed since I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna score an 898 or 842, just too much competition. E-mail me, maybe I can persuade someone to trade?

Back in the day I kept records of who had them, and all that fun stuff. I tried to score one from about 25 different people, and pestered the heck out of them for the entire winter. I would be real suprised if there are any left in the hands of someone besides Holland, Hester, Franek and a few other people. None of the BP.com community has real 705's thats for sure. One of the most rare seeds out there. Dave only saved about 100 seeds, and less than half of them germinated from what I remember. There were 2 types of fruit off of the 705, the perfect nice huge monsters such as Stelts and Daletas, and then there were those like Jim Kuhn and my dad had that were wheel shaped with deep ribs that split about 3 inches wide and about 2 feet long across the blossom......

I picked up a packet marked 705 Stelts at an Ohio Valley Seminar a few years back. The cost was a whopping $5! When opening the pack to plant a few years later, I found 2 seeds! Unfortunately, neither one germinated.

I had a 705 stelts that I had won at the New Hampshire picnic a few years back. I had BIG plans but it didnt germinate and I found that it was just better growing a unpopular seed rather than growing and worrying about a topnotch seed. Good luck in finding one.
