Now I'll admit, I'm just a lil 'ol southern grower who's been digging around in the dirt for only about the last decade or so. And, my knowledge might not equal a hill of beans(demonstrated here by incorrectly starting this sentence with an "and") but, based on a few recent posts, I've been running a few numbers... IF, as stated in an earlier post, $200 is an acceptable amount to pay for a seed(a seed that has only produced 1 1000+ pumpkin in each of the last two years)... AND, as stated in an earlier post, the seed stock only accounts for 10% of the final fruit weight... THEN, when this math hater(who took a second lab science in college to suffice the math requirement) runs the numbers, as stated in an earlier post...here's what we're looking at expense-wise to play this game: $200...(10%)SEED STOCK $200...(10%)INSECTS $200...(10%)FUNGI $200...(10%)WEEDS $100...(05%)WATER $100...(05%)WEATHER $1000..(50%)Soil
$2000 TO PLAY THE GAME WITH A GRAND OF IT FOR A PILE OF CRAP?!!
Well Boys(and Girls), Ante Up...
Golly, it always seemed ok before. Why'd I have to go and add it all up?!! Sorry, BF <:^}>

Why to spend $200 for water and weather if you can download the Navajo Rain Dance for nothing?
