I continue to receive a couple bubble packs a week from growers from all over who want to trade seeds with me from pumpkins that I grew this year. I don't mind this, in fact I have always given away almost all the seeds from each pumpkin that I have grown. Problem is, I haven't grown pumpkins in a couple years so I don't have any new seeds to send back. Feel kind of guilty keeping the seeds with no seeds to send back so I end up sending the growers back their seeds. Please hold back on those bubble packs until you know I've grown a pumpkin, then feel free to send those bubble packs. wishing you all happiness and a personal best in 2005! craig

I also feel badly when I ended up with seeds from only 2 pumpkins over 600# to send out, and I receive seeds from 8-10 good size pumpkins from other growers. (Thanks for your generousity!) It also amazes me that the longer you grow AGs, the more "surprise" seeds you'll recieve unsolicited, sometimes from people you've never had any contact with! I also receive several requests annualy with no or inadequate return postage. Even though I always send them back seeds, it isn't right to always expect someone to pay to send you free seeds! HNY!

Craig,

Just wondering why you stopped growing for a while? Are you growing in '05?

I have grown pumpkins since I was just a kid. I started growing the giants in '93. I always have taken a year or two off here and there. kinda hard to explain, but after besting the previous years world record on two different years the drive just wasn't there anymore. I will still grow them now and then because I have always enjoyed growing pumpkins. I am planning on growing this season, but am getting a new hunting dog this spring so may get caught up in training the dog instead of growing the pumpkin. I really DO want to win the Dill Nova Scotia Weighoff some day, so my competitive days aren't over yet.

Hey Craig, I haven't been able to round you up personally so I am forced to use this open forum. I grow several old seeds each year and would like to include a few seeds off your '94 914 this next season! Please let me know if you still have any available. Thanks, Brian Fawcett
PS. Good luck in '05

the 914 seeds are completely gone, I don't even have one. I'm sure there are some out there catching dust in somebodys seed collection...ask around.
