Im Looking for a 1097 Beachy, the one i have looks really Iffy, I was Looking at it real close last night and it really doesnt look like it will germinate, this seed doesnt feel full ether. I know the 1097's dont look the greatest but the one I have really dont look like it has promise. If anyone has one to trade email me,I really want to grow this seed this year. shine a laser pointer through the seed under a desk.
do NOT shine it into your eyes! ever!
as you drag the pointer from pointed end to rounded end,
make note of where the light REALLy shines through the seed. if it is at least at the halfway mark, the seed should be good to go. this is JUST my opinion, and the seed is probably fine anyway, even with only a quarter of its full internal volume occupied! all it takes is for the seed to GERMINATE and Nature does the rest. if and when you get another, TRY your original 4 or 5 days before your new one. it may do well for you.
and, now you'll have another for SIBBING!!!!!! eric

I know tom really hates it when people send him empty seeds. So I don't think he would send a seed that he didn't think was viable to anyone. maybe email him about it.

Brigitte,
I can very much relate to how Tom feels about seeds but it's possible for anyone to let one or two iffy seeds to get past them. I check each seed myself and let my daughter
Katja also check every single seed I receive or send. She's 7 and is pretty good at it!

Also, sometimes seeds are full but still don't sprout.
Best regards!
Michel
