I would like to plant a Gold Rush next spring. I have been unable to find any place on the internet that sells small packets of Gold Rush seeds. I emailed Rupp Seeds and they will sell them to me but their smallest order quantity is 1 ounce which they tell me is approximately 180 seeds. Does anyone have four Gold Rush seeds they could send me if I supply a SASBP (preferably from a big one) or does anyone know where to obtain a small packet over the internet?
Thanks, Steve

Gold Rush is a pepo cucurbita pumpkin cultivar developed by Rupp Seeds. The Rupp web site lists it as a hybrid but it is actually a cultivar (typo according to an email I received from Rupp). Here is a link to what they look like:

Some people have managed to grow 80+ pounds pumpkins using Gold Rush seed. My problem is that Rupp only sells in bulk and I just need 2-4 seeds.

Hello Steve, Would the 1 ounce of seed be very expensive? Give me an email at ljdlkabat@yahoo.com and we can discuss the seed delema. I might be able to buy the others or we can set up a deal.

Douglas,
I will email Rupp and see what an ounce of Gold Rush seeds goes for. I really only need a couple of seeds and I hate to just toss out 180 seeds. Also, I have a line on other seeds for big hard stem pumpkins (cucurbita pepo). I'll post here what Rupp's response is as to price.

Shipping and handling cost more than the 1 ounce of seed. Some of us Jack O lantern growers order in the spring repost your request your post in the fall. Bob Wells normally has a few beautiful "Gold Rush" crosses he breeds from the previous year.

Rupp's response was "1 oz of Gold Rush seeds is $6.25 plus shipping."
